The Value Of FluxTone

Many folks are asking why our product costs as much as it does. First we have to understand that the FluxTone VMT system and method is the embodiment of at least 4 other products. So let's examine these products one by one.

   1) FluxTone magnetic circuit parts are turned one at a time on a lathe, by machinists. Our tolerances are held much tighter and closer than a mass produced stamped out speaker. The benefit of holding these tight tolerances is an increase in efficiency. Our speakers, when used with no attenuation, (full magnetic strength), are at least 3dB more efficient than most other OEM products. This increase of 3dB of loudness means that your 50 watt amp is now as loud as a 100 watt amp, or it is like adding another conventional 12" speaker to your system. So by keeping tight tolerances, we can increase the efficiency of our speaker so you can realize a doubling of SPL. All of this is done without requiring your amp to produce any more power. High efficiency speakers can cost $200.00 more than normal OEM products, and may not even be available in your particular voice.

   2) Typical power scaling circuits only yield about 10dB of attenuation, usually cost more than $300.00, and are an intrusive and expensive modification/option for your amp. The FluxTone VMT system and method will provide you with that same 10dB of attenuation, without any coloration of your tone or change in your amp's schematic.

   3) In your qwest for more attenuation, along with your "power scaler circuit", you could employ some kind of a "resistive load" between your amp and speaker. These devices sport marketing names similar to... "power-soak", or "watt-eater", or "hot-box", or "recording buddy" etc...These band aids typically produce a lot of annoying heat, have to be clumsily wired up to your system, and of course, they change your tone. Although some of these tone altering devices can provide 10dB of attenuation, the FluxTone VMT system and method will generously provide you with that 10dB cut in SPL, and yet another 5dB of attenuation on top of that! Thats a total of 25dB of attenuation in SPL (via the FluxTone VMT system) with no coloration of your amp's native tone!  By the way, those heat generators typically cost $300.00 or more.

   4) Finally, FluxTone speakers offer you the choice of 6 widely accepted, highly desired voices. Classic Celestion, Jensen, and Eminence voices are all available, as FluxTone uses only factory OEM complete cone assemblies. This way, you can have that "green, blue, gold, or brown" sound. These after market voices can cost as much as $350.00.

To recap, you get a more efficient speaker, a full 25dB of attenuation, no need for modifications to your amplifier's schematic, no hassles with "power-break" wiring and heat buildup, and you get the voice you want, all in one product. These features, purchased separately, could cost more than $1,250.00. A FluxTone retrofit system with VMT offer all of this in one clean package for as little as $550.00. (Complete FluxTone extension cabinet prices vary with number of speakers and cabinet options) We use Mojotone cabinets as a standard, www.mojotone.com.  However you can use most any cabinet you desire.
